"today you have to say hello"

interestingly i found out that today it is the "hello"-day!! (=a day that we are supposed to say hello to 10 strangers).

That we have a hello day is sad i believe. Is this a proof of how shallow our interpersonal relations have become? Some may argue that it is just a lame marketing strategy- everyday of the year is "the worldwide day of...". While it may sound akward to go in the streets and start "hello-ing" randomly, it is equally sad if not shocking, to see how on a daily basis we seem to forget the many common things we share as human beings while we accentuate a few minor differences ...right?
